BREAKING: Coast Guard Airlifts Man from Explorer of the Seas
A 66 year old man was airlifted from the Explorer of the Seas, a U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman said Thursday.
The man was reportedly suffering from internal bleeding. The U.S.C.G. arilifted the man to Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles.
The Coast Guard's Puget Sound station received a call at 3:15 a.m. from the cruise ship, which was headed to Victoria, Canada, requesting help for the man.
The Coast Guard arrived at the ship 30 minutes after the call was received, and left the ship at 4:00 AM.
Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas was traveling up the Washington coast near La Push when Coast Guard officials in Port Angeles were alerted, Flockerzi said. The ship left Seattle Sept. 16 and is to return Friday.
