Bernews- On Monday, the Norwegian Jade performed a medical evacuation for a critically ill passenger. And you think you had a crappy Monday. The 73-year-old male passenger was disembarked from the ship at around 7:00 PM last night. A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The Bahamas flagged cruise ship ‘Norwegian Jade’, is due off the east end of Bermuda at 7pm this evening, for Medical Evacuation of a critically ill 73-year-old male passenger. Patient and medical team will transfer ashore via pilot boat, for onward transit to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Norwegian Jade will then continue original journey from Miami, Florida, to Ponta Delgada, Azores.”

Below is a Facebook live video of the passenger being evacuated:

What a crappy way to end a cruise. "You must leave the ship after spending thousands of dollars because you have become critically ill. No we will not refund your money, and you have to pay for the evac." I hope he had travel insurance. My thoughts and prayers are with the man and his family.
