150 Days 'till Norwegian Epic
In 150 days on March 31, 2018, my family and I will embark on a seven night cruise on-board the Norwegian Epic! The cruise starts out in Port Canaveral, Florida, and will sail to a total of four ports in the Western Caribbean. Ports of call include Great Stirrup Cay (NCL's Private Island); Ochos Rios, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel Mexico. We've been to Cozumel twice before and we are excited to go back. We went to Great Stirrup Cay back in 2012 on the Norwegian Jewel, but we didn't get to tender because the water was too choppy. We are excited to hopefully finally experience GSC!

We will be staying in stateroom 16021. We went with a two bedroom Haven family villa, since we liked it so much this year on the Jade. The room features two full bathrooms, a living room, a dining area, a master bedroom with a queen size bed, a second bedroom with a pull out couch and bunk, and a private balcony. Another perk of staying in the Haven is that we get our own concierge and butler (who have always been so nice and accommodating). We were a little wary booking the Epic since the Haven area is so big. We figured that there would be too many people, and that it wouldn't be as private as on Norwegian's Jewel Class Ships. However, NCL really stepped up their game with the Haven on-board the Epic. There is a private Haven restaurant serving all meals, a private Haven bar and grill, and a concierge lounge. This will all be new to us as we have only been on Jewel Class ships. We considered the Pearl, but it had the same itinerary as the Jade cruise that we did this past April, and it left out of New Orleans which would be more expensive to get to for us.
We already have our flights booked with Allegiant Airlines. Our first flight is flight number 655 from Richmond International Airport (RIC) to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) on Thursday, March 29. We haven't booked any hotels yet, but we plan to stay in a hotel in Port Canaveral the night before our cruise. Our returning flight is flight number 654 from SFB to RIC on April 8 on Allegiant Airlines. This will give us a day between disembarkation and our returning flight.
Why Norwegian Cruise Line Again
We chose Norwegian Cruise Line again because we've never had a negative experience with them. The crew is super nice and they always anticipate all of our needs. Another reason is that we travel with someone who is disabled, and the crew makes it much easier by always being so kind and helpful. We've never really experienced this with other cruise lines. I think it's safe too say that we're loyal to Norwegian Cruise Line!
I will be doing my best to live blog every day from the ship! However, as I learned on our last cruise, sometimes the WiFi can be a bit spotty, and that can make it hard to get the posts up. Be sure to follow along everyday here at cruiseveryday.com and on Instagram @cruiseveryday!
