2 Cruise Passengers Rescued off Coast of Virginia

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is reporting that two cruise ship passengers were medevaced off the coast of Virginia, early Saturday morning (July 24, 2016). The two passengers had experienced medical issues and needed immediate medical attention. The passengers were taken to Sentara General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a C-130 Hercules aircraft crew assisted in the rescue. They arrived at the Norwegian Gem and had the passengers hoisted off by 5:00 AM.

The Norwegian Gem is currently on a seven night cruise to Florida and the Bahamas, from New York City.
