Cruise Ships Move to Winter Ports

The winter cruising season has begun, which means cruise ships are moving to their winter ports. These ships include Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas, Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Jade, and Carnival's newest ship, the Carnival Vista. One of the biggest and most exciting moves is the Harmony of the Seas. The Harmony of the Seas was unveiled in May of this year and was sailing out of Barcelona for 6 months. Now she is finally on her way to the U.S. for the first time, as we speak, and will arrive in Port Everglades on Saturday. She will replace her sister ship, the Oasis of the Seas, in Port Everglades. The Oasis of the Seas will sail out of Port Everglades today for the last time at 2:00 PM. She will then sail Eastern and Western Caribbean Cruises out of Port Canaveral.

After the Oasis of the Seas leaves for the last time today, the three Oasis class cruise ships (Oasis, Allure, and Harmony) will meet off of the coast of Florida for the the first, and probably last time.

When the Harmony of the Seas leaves Port Everglades for the first time on Saturday, it will be escorted out to sea by a flotilla of JetBoard and jet pack performers. You can watch that live on PTZtv Live Port Everglades webcam here.

Another really big and exciting cruise ship move is Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship, the Carnival Vista. The Carnival Vista was also unveiled in May and sailed out of Europe. The Vista was welcomed to the U.S. 2 nights ago. She will sail three 11 night Eastern Caribbean Carnival Journeys from New York City. After that she will begin sailing Caribbean cruises from the Port of Miami.

Another Royal Caribbean ship that is at it's new winter port is the Brilliance of the Seas. The Brilliance of the Seas has been sailing out of Barcelona Spain for the past six months. She made her way back to the U.S. on Monday. Brilliance will sail 4 and 5 night Western Caribbean cruises until April 13, 2017.

The last ship that I'm going to talk about is the Norwegian Jade. The Norwegian Jade has been sailing Mediterranean cruises from Europe for the past 6 months. She is currently on her way to the U.S. to sail 7 Night Western Caribbean cruises out of Tampa, Florida. She will make her way into dry dock at the beginning of the new year, and will be finished at the beginning of April for a chartered cruise. I will be on the first cruise open to the public after the new dry dock refurbishments. I will be posting live updates on Instagram and on here. Stay tuned! The Jade will then return to the Mediterranean on April 30, 2017.
